Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Etta James - the sad news.

Doctors have released the sad news that soul/blues singer Etta James has been diagnosed as terminally ill with chronic Leukaemia. It was just last month I reviewefd her final studio recording The Dreamer, little realising the underlying tragedy beneath it all. May you find peace you were a musical inspiration to many.
