This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Why Musicians Don't go to Other Musician's Gigs

Discussing the often asked question as to why musicians rarely go to other musician's gigs the best answer we came up with was that they don't want to let the guys playing the gig know that they don't have a gig that night!

Or on a rare night off the last thing they want to do is go out to a gig. Certainly that's my personal experience.

I do occasionally get to gigs (I have you as a witness to that Lance!) but because work takes me out so often in the evenings, nights off are more likely to be spent (like tonight) watching Dr Who with the kids!
