This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Update on New Century Ragtime Orchestra

On both Saturday and Sunday, 12 and 13 June, we will be at the Town Hall in Kirkcudbright (both sessions 2.30 – 5.00pm) as part of the 13th Kirkcudbright Jazz Festival

Then on Friday, 18 June, the band will be at Edinburgh’s Jazz ‘n’ Jive Club, 8-11pm (further details from www.scottish-studio.com/edinburghjazz/ )
I hope you can join us for one of these sessions.
Looking further ahead, we are at the Summer Classic Jazz Parade at Hemsby Seacroft, Norfolk on Saturday 3 July,
and at the 20th (and last!) Whitley Bay International Jazz Festival on Friday 9 July ( www.whitleybayjazzfest.org).
