I'd have found it incredible if the BBC HAD marked his centennial!
It would be interesting to know if it was acknowledged in France.
If it had been Wacko Jacko's centennial we would have hours and hours and hours and hours of tributes and endless drivel.

Recently I heard again Django's 'improvisation #1' on radio 3. It was played in among some classical stuff. It demonstrates his phenomenal right hand tremelo pick technique and also how he managed all those subtle chordal passages despite his damaged left hand. Astonishing! For anyone who hasn't heard this, it's on Youtube and here's the link.
