The Things They Say!

This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Reviewers wanted

Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Jazz Musicians killed in Buffalo Air Crash

Among the 50 dead in the Feb 12 Buffalo air disaster were two members of Chuck Mangione's band on their way to a gig in Buffalo.
Guitarist Coleman Mellett and sax player Gerry Niewood were both top class players and their deaths have shocked and saddened the jazz community.
Coleman was married to singer Jeanie Bryson.
RIP.
This sad news was thoughtfully brought to our attention by Hil. Coleman soundbite.

I am so sad today. Coleman and his wife Jeanie were 2 lovely people. They befriended Zoe and myself in NY although we first met them at the Cork Jazz Festival.
What is quite ironic Lance is at the top of your page you have a photo with Dizzy in it. Dizzy is the father of Jeanie Bryson.

RIP Coleman a lovely man with a lovely soul.
