I noticed a reader's letter in today's Telegraph bemoaning the fact that Radio 2 has dropped from their schedule one of the last programmes on this subject. The writer goes on to say that devotées might like to switch allegiance to: WMKV 89.3 FM, broadcast on the Internet from Cincinnati. This features American Big Band music & "London Rhythm" broadcast on Sundays & Fridays featuring the great London dance bands of the 30's & 40's

This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Interesting but for those interested in jazz and classy vocals I think Swiss Radio is better and it is 24 hour non-stop admitedly without much British dance band content.
