Early...with Jools

It was early one mornin', walkin' through Central Arcade. Yes, it was early one mornin'...Popular entertainer Jools Holland is usually to be found late night on BBC 2 introducing a studio full of musicians. At the crack of dawn today, Mr H appeared outside JG Windows in Central Arcade, Newcastle. It was, of course, a 'virtual', old school cardboard cut-out of the man promoting a well-known make of keyboard. The real Jools Holland will return to Tyneside next year to fulfill two rescheduled concert appearances at Newcastle City Hall on December 1st and 2nd.

This reminds me of a rather scary incident ...
As is well known, I worked in the aforementioned music store for many years. As well as the retail outlet in the Central Arcade they also had a workshop cum office in an old 3 storied terraced house on Leazes Park Rd.
The room on the top floor was more of an attic and rarely used apart from storing junk and old paperwork (this was before the digital age) that may have to be referred to at some point but rarely was - apart from this one occasion when I was sent on a mission to search for a long lost invoice.
The dust and the cobwebs on the top floor gave it an almost Dickensian atmosphere. I opened the door and then I froze! Standing smiling at me was Frank Sinatra, tuxedo and all. Ring-a-ding-ding I almost filled my pants until I realised it was a life size cut out from some long gone promotion!
Now, when I listen to his recording of "You Make me Feel so Young" Oscar Wilde's The Portrait of Dorian Gray springs to mind!
