Bebop Spoken There

Jasper Høiby: "These days everybody thinks they know something about everything, and there are so many opinions being aired all over the place that aren't fully formed because there are so many platforms to say anything you want to when you feel like it." - (Jazzwise June 2020)

Dave Rempis:Ten years from now, I can see musicians streaming concerts in real time and charging a minimal amount for people to watch.” - (DownBeat September 2013)

The Things They Say!

Hudson Music: Lance's "Bebop Spoken Here" is one of the heaviest and most influential jazz blogs in the UK.

Rupert Burley (Dynamic Agency): "BSH just goes from strength to strength".

11,661 (and counting) posts since we started blogging just over 12 years ago. 795 of them this year alone and, so far, 60 this month (July 15).

As we all know there are no live gigs taking place in the immediate future. However, any links to jazz streaming that are deemed suitable - i.e. with a professional approach - will be considered for posting.

Djangologie @ Hoochie Coochie Thurs Jan 5.

Strumming and bowing, plucking spectacular,
Reinhardt's repertoire and originals inspired by the vernacular.
Fisk, Birkett, Shoulder and Strong,
Regaled and entertained an appreciative throng.
Django's stomp, the Autumn Leaf,
Nuages, Belleville and many more,
Bewitching melodies and inspired improvisations,
Were in abundance from all four.
Twirling and spinning with impressive coordination,
A young couple danced around the floor,
Hoochie Coochie played host to a wonderful evening,
And I'm sure there'll be many, many more.
Paul Edis.

Well done Paul. Not only a pianist and a composer but also a lyricist.
