This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Reviewers wanted

Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Scarborough Update

Tickets really are going well for this year's Scarborough Jazz Festival - Sept 24/25/26. The weekend passes are completely sold out as are the tickets for Saturday evening. I understand tickets for the other two evenings are also evaperating quickly so if you haven't booked yet do so at once and avoid disappointment.

Lance, If I can't get away for at least the sunday, now that I'll be missing the saturday dance, then please write your bestest ever. I want to smell the sea from my laptop. They make up for everything, your words they do.

The Sunday evening is good with the Chet Baker play - 'A Funny Valentine' followed by Alan Barnes plays Alan Barnes - however, if you don't make it then my typing finger(s) will be pickled in brine - the rest of me will just be pickled (joke!)
