Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Jazz Jam Sandwich! @ Prohibition Bar - Sept. 29

On leaving the grandeur of the Common Room this Sunday evening (see LL's Emma Smith review), with half an hour to kill, there was a first opportunity to call into Prohibition Bar to check out the recently established monthly 'Jazz Jam Sandwich'. Time enough to enjoy a bottle of Double Maxim, let's see what's going down on the last Sunday in the month on Pink Lane. 

Mollie B, Rivkala and Liam O, the principals, more than a few were sitting-in. Lara H (trumpet), the Nolans (Oscar and Theo) and others were hitting on an extended vamp, round and round they went on a psychedelic merry-go-round. The Black Swan jam session it ain't, competition for the Globe's Sunday night jazz gig, it ain't. A 'jazz sandwich'? No, not really. If you're not committed to going to the Globe on the last Sunday in the month, why not wander into town to find out for yourself what's going down on Pink Lane? Russell
