Another day, another jam. Is it the Jazz Café or is it the Globe? Maybe it's Charts or perhaps the Dun Cow? It can't be the Fire Station because that's tomorrow which means that, as today is Wednesday, the choice is between the Globe and the Dun Cow.

Such is the dilemma one faces - too much jam and not enough bread. Another evening of Summertime, Stella By Starlight, Autumn Leaves, All the Things You Are, Green Dolphin St. and There Will Never be Another You to spice the jaded palate.

As it turned out only the latter two numbers were on last night's menu at the Dun Cow (10% off the ale with a loyalty card helped me to make my decision!) which made a change.

Marek, the drumming melodica man from Poland via Melbourne, once again demonstrated what can be done with his unusual instrument. Singers Kate and Alice offered contrasting styles as did Ingo, the Teutonic tenorman, and John Rowland who sounded as if he'd found the answer to that eternal question What is This Thing Called Love?

Both guitarists were on form although houseman Giles needed a little more volume to be heard clearly, as did bassman Mick, such was the competition from the offstage barflies.

Russ and Marek were immune to such irritants.
