I mentioned before that I was sorting out my old jazz mags from the 1960's and 70's.
Do you know if anyone would want them? I wouldn't want anything for them and the alternative is to throw them out. They are listed below, also included are a number of souvenir programs and jazz record listings, plus volume 1 to 6 of Dave Carey's Jazz Directory. If you know of anyone I could meet them halfway (I live near Alnwick) to hand them over.

We're in the same boat - us and every other jazzer of a certain age. Like yourself, I've got volumes of those mags going back to the 1940s. I tried to offload mine onto the Jazz Archive that Digby runs in Essex but they seem to have accrued just about every magazine and Jazz related book in existence. They've probably got a few Buddy Bolden cylinders! Actually, yours is a request I get very often. The problem is, we're all of an age where we start thinking of offloading, reluctantly, our treasures. I've got LPs, CDs, even 78s that it would break my heart to part with but, what do I do?
There's some great young jazz musicians coming along but they're more interested in playing rather than reading about it (other than on the internet). And jazz, for young non-players, doesn't exist. Perhaps there should be a time capsule where all this material could be stored and opened in a 100 year's time? As it happens, I've just started putting my cycling magazines[my other interest] in the bin so I honestly don't hold out much hope. Nevertheless, I will post it and see what happens.
