Peter Ind - Frank Griffith features the iconic bassist on The Jazz Cavern

This week belongs to Lennie Tristano, possibly the most underrated jazz pianist of all time. I'm currently enjoying Mosaic/Dot Time Records' boxed six-CD set of previously unreleased privately recorded items, The first of which was reviewed yesterday and the second later today.

Tomorrow night Frank Griffith, tenor player/broadcaster, features Peter Ind - one of the most important members of Lennie's musical intimates - on his weekly radio show The Jazz Cavern of which the details are below.

"My weekly radio  show, The  Jazz Cavern on 6 January at 9:00pm will feature the music of the later Peter Ind (1928-2021)*. Peter was a British bassist, who was resident in the USA from 1951-1965 and played with Lennie Tristano, Roy Eldridge,  Lee Konitz, Warne Marsh, Buddy Rich and Kenny Barron to name a few. The show will include recordings of Peter with Tristano and others.

Peter formed his record label, Wave Records, in 1963 in NYC which still exists today. www.waverecordsmusic.com." Lance
