Alan Rudd sent me this vintage '50s photo of the Panama Jazzmen. Alan's dad, Norman Rudd is on piano. Other band members are Joe McMullen (tpt); Ronnie McLean (tmb); Ray Jobling (bs) and Teddy Hutchinson (dms). The Panama's regular clarinetist was Stan Martin but Alan doesn't think it is Stan. Can anyone identify the clarinetist?

Hi Lance coud it be Mike Da Costa on clarinet he played with the Panama in the 50's.

Could be clarinetist, Don Armstrong, who also played with the Panama around 55/56. He's still playing well and is due to visit Whitley Bay in August from his home in Australia.

I joined the Panama when Stan Martin headed off overseas to open a buisness somewhere like Spain? Mike da costa replaced me when I left for Africa in Jan 1958 or was 1957?
