This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Moonlight in Vermont
Pennies in a stream,
Falling leaves of sycamore,
Moonlight in Vermont.
Icy finger waves,
Ski trails on a mountain side,
Snowlight in Vermont.

As they travel each bend in the road.
People who meet in this romantic setting,
Are so hypnotized by the lovely...

Amazingly, this most enduring of standards has a lyric without a single rhyme, has only a suggestion of love, and was written by two guys - Karl Suessdorf and John Blackburn - who, to my knowledge, didn't write anything else either together or with anyone else.
Just thought I'd throw this one in for those seeking wisdom.
Instrumentally nobody did it beter than Stan Getz and Johnny Smith whilst vocally, Sinatra would be difficult to top.
