Pulled out some vinyl from the rack - Gerry Mulligan's 1963 album Night Lights. Perfect late night listening - outside of Sinatra this is as good as it gets when the bewitching hour approaches - it even has an instrumental version of Wee Small Hours.
Mulligan (bar); Brookmeyer (tmb); Farmer (tpt/flug); Hall (gtr); Crow (bs); Bailey (dms). This is as midnight cool as it gets - check out the title track on YouTube. Gerry plays piano on this one and Art Farmer on flugel is the ice in that last Martini.
Love it.
Lance.
