A Newcastle Big Band Memory

I read with pleasure the articles and memories about Nigel Stanger and Newcastle Big Band. I once sang with the NBB at the University Theatre Bar (where else?) on a Sunday lunchtime. In the interval I asked Andy Hudson if the band would play MacArthur Park in the second half. He said "if you sing it we'll play it", so I did. Afterwards Nigel asked me if I'd be available the following Sunday, "Sure", I said, anticipating being offered a regular vocals position in the band. The Stanger riposte left me in no doubt: "well don't expect a call from us.............."!!

No I've never caught up with Geoff (Jeff?) Hedley. I seem to recall someone saying he'd re-located to Wales but I'm not sure.
I can't recall your vocal but so many things happened on those Sunday mornings it's now all very misty...
