It is something of a rarity to find that two prime gigs in a row are by the Graham Hardy Quartet. It is an event that should happen more often so let's make the most of it.
Tonight (Sunday April 11) The Quartet; Graham (tpt/fl.h), Mark Williams (gtr), Neil Harland (bs), Brendan Murphy (perc.) play the Bridge Hotel as part of the Splinter @ The Bridge's regular Sunday night slot.
Tomorrow night (Monday April 12) sees three of the fabulous four make their way over to the Cherry Tree Restaurant (9 Osborne Rd., Jesmond) where they will team up with Rob Walker who replaces Brendan Murphy's percussion with a conventional drum kit to give a completely different take on The Quartet's program.
Because it is something to savour - like the food at the latter or the beer at the former - why not take in both?
Lance.
